Circling The Edge

When the dreams begin to change
And the dawn isn't enough
to break free of the spell of their magic
When black and white
transcend the reality
into shades of grey
You know you're growing up.

When the mirror isn't enough
to tell you who you are
And to view yourself with
an other's eyes doesn't please
you anymore,
You know you've grown up.

When the last traces of winter sunshine
cannot be captured
in the strands of souls
which lay cold
You know you've grow beyond you.

When the other key to you
locks you down
in the prison of eternal
fakery
And your key to you don't work,
You know you aren't growing,
No more.
