Hey people!! Yes I know I'm not keeping up with the promise of posting everyday, but well...I'm probably the only visitor of my blog, so who cares? :P But in any case, if you ever make the mistake of entering my blog(thanks to my adverse publicity) and the destiny is such that you land up on this post, please answer my question ie.-WHY do people type so pathetically while they're chatting/texting? Does it make them cool by any chance?? Or does it make them feel young and in tune with the popular fashion?? Well then grab a piece of mind from me, and stop it. It is not only annoying and deceiving the very idea of communication, but also projects you in a very unprofessional light with streaks of unawareness. It is NOT cool. It is NOT young. On the other hand, it is LAME! Very LAME!
I'll give you a few interesting examples- A friend of mine, Radhika, types in this hysterical way. of becomes o on becomes n and also becomes n {So you have to be very intelligent to figure her messages, luckily I am} is becomes s to becomes t that become tat
Another friend of mine, Akriti has an amazing drunk way of expressing herself. I have known her for about 4 years now, and I do not get her on text, EVER. two, to and too too becomes 2. drink and drunk become drnk. plain, plan, plane become pln. And yet if you don't understand what she means, you are the one who is sleepy.
Yet another dear friend of mine(Yes I'm surrounded with these people), Aakanksha is the best case. She signs off by saying- byeeEeEEeeeeEEEEeeeeeEEE LooOOoOOooo0oO0o0OO0Ooo0OOooOOOOooOOoOOoOOove yoOooOouUuu aknsha
When I talk to my dad on text, it seems like I am talking to my future son. Even he uses this acclaimed language of the aliens.
And well what to say about Akhtar sir. He is an ENGLISH teacher!!!! And a pretty good one at that. He writes amazingly well, and you can refer a few of my earlier posts for his comments on them. They're sufficient to be called as a post on their own. You'd want a teacher like that all your life, but of course not everyone is as lucky as I'm :P But, it's disappointing to read his informal texts. They make use of this brilliant literary concept.
I see all these amazing blogs and they inspire me so much, to blog more often. It makes me look down upon my blog and see the number of my posts per month. Then I look down upon my life. What do I even do all day? 1.I have to get up at 7 in the morning. (Never happens) 2.Get ready by 8.10. (Never happens) 3.Respond to Aashna's textual ultimatums and phone calls by saying "Just a minute! Am coming downstairs!" (Always Happens) 4.Reach college at about 8.45 for the 9'O clock class (Yes, surprisingly, always happens. Thanks to Hitler Aashna) 5.Text Tavleen, Radhika, Gautam, Suveer, Akriti, Shreya etc etc etc. 6.Survive through boring lectures. (Thanks to Facebook) 7.Go to the canteen (which is the best BTW) and eat something-just anything. 8.Take an auto back home (Now this is the worst. Given the amount of rain that has been flooding our college gateway, the auto wallas get to throw all sorts of tantrum, as though they are paying me for the ride.) 9.Reach home, eat lunch, sleep. 10.Wake up, switch on the computer. Waste time. Do the assignments/Journo Junction work. 11.Go back to sleep at about 3 A.M.
Not too much of an exciting day, is it? It is so boring and frustrating. In fact I've started hating it now. So I might as well start writing. It really is something that makes me feel better. It makes me sane.
So this is it. I will move on from publishing just my poetry and write about anything and everything from now on. I have to survive the DU life after all. It can get pretty insane.
Oh and I have to submit an assignment on "Barriers to Communication" by 10th of September. I hope I get the mind to do it. Cya all, And as it is customary (Well from now on :P) ~Cheers~
Blogging is fun. Isn't it just comfortable to spill out everything in one go and not having to think for a second that the person who is being entrusted with this knowledge is judging us? Even though, it's worse because I'm letting out my entire day to you, without having any clue about you reading this but it still gives me a sense of satisfaction that I may never know about how you judged it. Whether you raised an eye brow or two, or projected an expression that I might just hate, or probably stuck your red tongue out--Doesn't Matter Really, because I shall never know!! But yes, I confess. I am a part of that world too. I judge. And I hate it. It's an involuntary reflex. No matter how hard I try not to judge people-because eventually my opinions get thrashed badly by what's real- I just cannot avoid it.
A war is a struggle. It is the highest form of confidence in one’s notion, that competing against its opponent seems urgent, seems essential. On the battle field of ideas, concepts and a world without bloodshed, this is how I describe war. But its impact could be more bloodcurdling than that of a war fought with arms and armors. It could bring about a revolution, a change.
Terrorism, on the other hand is capable of bringing about a change too. A change nobody desires. It instills fear in the minds of the people. It converts a peaceful living environment cherishing the existence of happy families residing in it, into a burning misery. It transforms employment into redundancy.
Terrorism emanating from the countries we share our borders with, is technically the face of global terrorism. If it is not halted, time would come to a standstill to watch this dearth of humanity.
I am Ashima Madan, and I am against terrorism. My conviction in my opinion is strong enough to spark off this war to end cross border terrorism. But the question here is— Are you ready to fuel it?
It’s already November. November, December, January, February,...................the countdown has begun.
As the time flies by...I wish to take a moment and tell my friends how much I love them. My life is incomplete without you all. I can’t even imagine how my days would be like without you guys.
No two-minutes™ additional discussions in the morning in the volleyball court, those wild conversations in the bus, playing basketball like junglees, laughing till it hurt, gaana sunna, drive back home, texting each other all the time and well everything which makes life worth it...
Radhika: Hey Jade!! I heart teasing you! .....and also....like I told you before, you are my treasure and hence the name. (btw jade is my lucky stone according to, well most of the astrology websites which I don’t trust :P) I don’t know why it is so hard for me to be sweet to you. I just love to be sarcastic with you all the time, to outwit you with some crazy one-liner. Haha, but I depend on you, rely on you and count on you the most. It’s not how long we’ve known each other....but how long we spent for each other which really matters. Whenever I feel like talking to someone, to give any minute detail of my life, I can’t think of anyone else to call up but you.
Favourite quote by you: hmmmmm......
Moulshree: Hmm.....from where do I start?Describing my ‘fun’ with you would be like describing my entire day!
The tandoori nights dance, the promotion from 2-B to 3-B and then eventually to 13-B, those endless chats in the bus, those crazy times in school, those messages from a distance of 50 cm in tuitions, describing teachers and their pathetic or awesome fashion taste while sitting on the first bench, trp jokes, understanding each other so well that we could actually predict what the other person is going to say next.....
Tavleen: My Similarity Billy!! I can literally write a book on you by now! You own my inbox, you know that? Lol.......... I am going to tell tooth fairy and baa to keep a check on you. Because I’m going to miss you and everything about you. Messaging messaging messaging....phoning phoning phoning..... laughing laughing laughing....t3 and d3....sautan.....creating imaginative stories..hehe...and well....mwah...hahaha
Favourite quote by you: Late toh late hota hai but hum baut late hain (and then realising that the princi is in front of you!)
Rinchin: Chin2!! Lol.....That was the best prank ever. Haha. I love you rinch. You have been a cool friend to me. And the “girls day in” at your place rocked. You are very creative and artistic. I love the card you made me. And girl, we rock together.
Favourite quote by you: My movie’s name will be “Finally 17” (wow, we created that :P)
Suveer: Good Soldier! Hehe......Jab tak tujhe din mein ek baar irritate na kar lun....mera din hi nai khatam hota! Shit! How am I going to manage without you! You emotionless phlegmatic war fighter!
Favourite quote by you: Main kisko phone/miss/msg/search kar sakta hun?
Akhil: Dictionary! Lol! Yea...you’ve been my dictionary....Shaggy! I love nicknaming you!! Can’t even count how many of those silly nicknames I’ve dedicated to you already! And truly speaking I am tired of the almonds, so I am not going to include them in this. Blah...I still did. Shehh....Koi nai....Almonds ne hamaara 10th se saath diya hai. Oh and speaking about 10th, it was fun always in the recess because of you and of course it was fun for you since I used to give you some whacky cool hairstyles :P
Favourite quote by you: My shirt heals itself just like Rositaaaaaa.........
Akriti: I feel just too good about having you besides me always, and knowing that you are there for me. You are probably the most stable person around me(even if craziness maintained your consistency :P).
Favourite quote by you:”Mere do kaan kyun nai hain?”
Rajat: The most upbeat and emotional person around me. Rajat you are crazily bestowed with hell lot of talent. Haha. And I love playing ‘bingo(s)’ with you! <3
Favourite quote by you: Ash meri aakhon mein, Ash meri baaton mein.........
Raman: I seriously think you should become a detectice. You're too good at it! I don't know why, but the moment you speak something I am laughing. Everything which you say becomes funny automatically. I didn't know you well before like October or something. But then we had fun on the drive back home.
P.S: Plz tell me that thing!
Favourite quote by you: Faaaardd
Mohini: Wow the moment i look at you....I start laughing! We make a good pair that ways! We are always laughing and having masti. I makes me wonder....tu pehle kahan thi oye?
Favourite quote by you: Hellluuuuuu
Gautam: My tech update! Whenever there’s a tech crisis you’re the only name in my head! Like seriously! And dude, you’ve got to be alright now! I wish you lots n lots of health.
Favourite quote by you: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz I know it all....all books are made up of these. I don’t wanna study!
Aditi: I love you! Walking had never been my thing you know...lol...but tere saath walk karte karte...time used to fly. (wow!!) The walks around the ‘dabbas’, the chocolate fantasies to nullify their effect, the looooong chats about our lives, all that randomness (really I am not that randomly descriptive about my life to anybody else), the infamous mausmi juice, bus talks...I really don’t know how we became such amazing friends. You’re my FAVOURITE(and AWESOMEST) ELEVENTHEE! :D
Favourite quote by you: bobbing head?
Kunal: Kannu! You ghatiya idiot insaan....jab dekho mere baal kharab kar deta hai. And well, if anybody has ever had a complaint regarding me shouting alot off late, well then you know whom to hit. It’s all cuz of you that I keep on shouting so much! Bus would never have been so amazing without you.
Favourite quote by you: hahaan....(well that effect can’t be captured in words)
What we write, is the purest form of us. And the impurities, in that purity determine our character. It's because when we talk to ink and a sheet of paper (read:keyboard and the screen of a computer!), we assume that our words would stay there and nobody else is reading it. But in spite of it, every writer has a dream of being read! It's AMAZING!! Isn't it? When people read you and comment? (even though they don't understand 75% of the content, like you maybe!!) Thus, I believe that it would be apt to title my blog as "FAKE TRUTH" Welcome to my blog! ~Cheers~ :)
